Andrey Hristov and Ulf Wendel work for MySQL AB in the MySQL Connectors team. Both have worked as Web developers in the past, and have been using PHP since the PHPFI days. Prior to creating the mysqlnd library, Andrey developed and implemented the Event Scheduler in MySQL 5.1. Ulf's role in mysqlnd development has encompassed QA, documentation and community related work. Georg Richter, their team leader and lead developer of the mysqli extension, has ensured that mysqlnd is the perfect companion for ext/mysqli.
