Lukas Smith is Coming to Codeworks!

Lukas Smith is a long time contributor to the PHP project, where he has also established himself as an expert in relational databases. He makes regular appearances at conferences around the globe. Through his involvement in various PHP.net projects he has been entrusted with the postion of co-release-manager for PHP 5.3. Employed as a software developer at LIIP in Zurich Switzerland, he still makes regular trips to his home town Berlin and various Ultimate Frisbee tournaments all over the world.

A few things you may not know about Lukas:

  • He picked the name Lukas
    himself.
  • He played in 30 Ultimate Frisbee Tournaments last year.
  • According to Ohloh, he has logged over 4200 commits to projects such as PHP, Symfony, Doctrine, PEAR and Okapi, in PHP, HTML, CSS, XML, SQL, XSL Transformation, Javascript and C. He is ranked 165 of 216,661.
  • He is behind the emPHPower effort

Lukas will be giving a tutorial entitled “Developing Database-Driven Websites,” so be sure to bring your database challenges along and let him take a stab at them!
